WELCOME TO THRIFTONISTA!

Thriftonista (TM- trademark) is a term I coined to describe a girl who recognizes that being fashionable is not about how much money you spend but about spending your money on clothes that allow you to express your own unique sense of style while looking great, feeling fabulous and still being able to pay those bills!
If you have any questions or comments, you can contact me at thriftonista@gmail.com or leave a comment right here.
Thank you!

Free Personalized Box of Vintage and Retro Cuteness from Thriftonista!

In an effort to express my appreciation for my growing readership and to attract even more regular readers ( and customers!), I am very excited to announce my first giveaway-- a personalized box of goodies specifically tailored to the contest's winners. What the box contains will depend upon who wins it, but I can guarantee you that it will contain multiple pieces and be super fun and fabulous! I have many hundreds of amazing pieces (most of which have not even been photographed yet) and I want to show you guys how awesome I think you are by giving some of my sweet little gems away to you, my beloved readers!
This contest will begin at 12:01 am on January 18th and continue through 12:01 am on February 18th.
The rules of the giveaway are very simple and you can enter the contest in two different ways and win for one of 2 different reasons.
1) Leave me a comment letting me know how you found my blog and why you would like to be considered for a fabulous personalized gift. I would love to hear about your love for vintage clothes and shoes, or your commitment to only wearing recycled goods, or whatever. I may even contact you in the future to see if you'd like to do an interview!
-or-
2) Simply create a link to this post in your blog, on MySpace, etc and then leave me a comment letting me know that you linked this post. If you just link this post, please take the time to say "hello!" anyway!

I will choose 1 random winner from amongst all entrants and 1 winner on the basis of their (fairly brief, please) explanation of why they would like to be chosen.
The winner will be announced by 12:01 am on Saturday February 21st.

I look forward to hearing from all of you and to putting together an amazing and exciting gift box for each winner! By the end of February I will be sending out some very sweet surprises.
I can't wait to hear from you all!
xoxo

Helloo :)
I found your blog from a link from someone elses page!
I would reaalllyy like the giveaway as its really hard to find vintage clothes where I live, and as i'm on a budget, its also hard to buy stuff off the internet as some can get reaallyy overpriced.
I love vintage clothes, the 60s and 80s are definitely my favourites!

pleasee can I be considered? :)
xx

heylo! I found your blog from a link on giggleness's blog a couple days ago! I think this is a really neat idea and would LOVE to be considered. The thing I like most about this is that its all a suprise, and I LOVE suprises, because I usually come up with some of the best outfit ideas from random items! I also would like this because a lot of times nice vintage pieces cost so much, and like most people i'm on a budget!

thanks for considering me!

Hi! I can't remember how I found your blog, it was ages ago and I've loved it ever since! I love vintage because I am fascinated by each piece's history and the story behind it - sometimes I even daydream about who may have owned and worn a garment before me! I only buy vintage bags, as I think they are so much more well-made than the polyurethane plastic that I see mass-produced on the high street! My favourite things to buy vintage are pretty dresses, unusual bags and gold jewellery, and I can spend hours scouring all of the charity shops in my town to find the gems!
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to win some stunning one-of-a-kind items! :)

I found you trough Giggleness and linked you on blog.

I would love to win because vintage is like bodyart to me + one day I want to be the cool grannie with great style and this opportunity would jumpstart my humble collection ;) Thanks!

Dear Thriftonista, I found your blog via someone else's blogspot; dreamlovely-anne. I love vintage clothes and thriftstores. Sadly enough, most vintage clothes are overpriced here because people know what they sell (beautiful and one-of-a-kind clothing). But it always looks so amazing when people wear vintage. Vintage gives somebody a unique touch, big store clothing hardly manage that.

I hope I can be considered for this lovely giveaway.
Love.

How exciting! I found you through a link on 'Giggleness' and have been reading through all your posts.

I would love to be entered for this giveaway! I made a commitment last year to buy only vintage and second-hand, and so far I haven't broken it. I live in New Zealand and have a blog dedicated to recording my vintage finds and the way I remix them (and also to my writing, but that's another story). I think wearing vintage is a great way to recycle, to save money, to express your individuality (as most pieces are one-of-a-kind) and revitalise beautiful clothes that would otherwise sit in a closet gathering moth-holes. :D

I found your blog linked to allthishappiness.blogspot.com, I'm a visual artist looking for models and am in love with how girls are using vintage and thrifted goods and making them beautiful. I love making my own clothes and thrifting, but where I live now (Moscow, ID) there is a desperate shortage of good little shops. I would be really honored to be considered for this awesome idea of yours.

Totally besides the point, do you mind if I draw a portrait of you? You can see some of my work here: dreamhuntress.deviantart.com

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Hi!

I found you through Giggleness blog =)

I really love vintage clothes because they are always one of a kind. Also the search for them makes the item so much more special to me. I feel like I won a prize instead of just getting an item.

I also never got over my Mother burning a trunk FULL of her amazing 70's platform shoes because she assumed they would never go back in style. If she only knew *sigh*

I can't wait to see who wins and what's in their box =)
